Hi. I've sent an encrypted interop DCP (to Berlin from US) to be screened
in a room using DVC Clipster. They are having problems with it, saying the
image is black and getting errors about the picture size and a mix of
interop and SMPTE elements. Everything passes validation on our end and
plays fine on easyDCP player. We've tried multiple keys, but that didn't
seem to be the issue.
Any ideas on what is going on? Has anyone loaded a DOM DCP into a clipster
before... are they compatible?

Just noticed this section http://dcpomatic.com/compatibility actually
missing quite a few combinations.
Maybe a matrix server vs. projector will be easier to read? Of course
the important information will hide in the footnote exceptions ;)
To be added:
DCP-2K4 -> Barco DP2K-10S
DCP-2K4 -> Barco DP2K-8S
IMS1000 -> Barco DP2K-10S
Alchemy -> Barco DP2K-10S
I'm copying my partner, she should be able to add a few other
combinations of Doremi IMB, GDC, etc.

haha, up came my idea of adding shortcuts/plugins to DOM.
E.g. The Hateful Eight release triggers many requests for intermission DCPs of various length. Doing these in j2k would eat up much space (even if the DCP could probably be compressed very efficiently for transport if you keep the background simple).
So I just thought that an intermission DCP could be done much more space efficient using subtitles. Would also be very easy to have a basic framework with a countdown clock, and add different languages for 'Intermission'.
And then once we are there, why couldn't DCP-o-matic do it directly with, sort of a 'plugin'? And would there be other useful plugins for standard jobs?

Yes, I know, I am they guy who always voted to keep DCP-o-matic to the bare essentials and not pile up endless functions
That said, an intermission DCP generator could be a nice webbased application, especially since using subtitles, the resulting files would be small for download.
Just type in your catch-phrase or upload a background image, then download the resulting intermission DCP.
Hello to all and thanks for this wonderful gem called DCP-o-matic.
We used it in three different cinemas with no problems but now we had the
following error while ingesting a DCP on a Doremi server:
File size 8735 is incorrect (should be 8659)
Any ideas how to solve it?
Thanks,
Filippo

Hi everyone,
wondering who is using the Scale to fit width/Scale to fit height feature on a regular basis, or so to say, intentionally?
I thought about these options very often now (probably too often), and I can't get a grip on it.
In my work with DCP-o-matic, I never saw a need to use it.
I thought I could get a better idea if I'd just play around with it, but it doesn't seem to react in a way that allows me to see through.
E.g., when I select content and then choose either option, it applies a change to scaling/cropping once, but then doesn't revert back if I choose the other option. In my current trial, it presets a crop factor, I can reset that manually, yes. But it uses the same crop values for both Scale to fit width AND height?
Initially I thought these options would express the implementation of non-standard-aspect rations in the sense of the DCI/SMPTE standards:
One or both dimensions of a custom size container always needs to be the same as a full container - e.g. either vertical 1080 or horizontal 2048 (or their 4k counterparts).
But that doesn't seem to be the case?
Is it just a shortcut to two prominent scaling options?
Do these options still make sense since DOM is choosing default scaling for content based on content aspect ratio for a good while now?
The reason I am so picky about this is, I'm doing the german translation, and I have a hard time finding a good translation if I don't understand it...
Anyone?
