Hi all.
Does anyone have any pointers on converting a 3D bluray to DCP? The
bluray which is the source in this case has the 3D encoded as MVC. From
my reading, this means the right eye picture is encoded as a separate
stream (which is a delta from the left eye).
Have ripped the bluray with MakeMKV which recognises that it's an MVC-3D
stream. And the file it outputs appears to be the right size so I think
MakeMKV is not dropping the extra stream or something like that.
But I haven't found any software that can display both eyes at present.
DCP-o-matic doesn't see it, and nor does Bino 3D player or VLC.
I'm on Mac but can get hold of a Windows box if I need to.
Anyone encountered this before?
Many thanks,
Jim
Hi Carl ,.. Thank you for all the time you've spent making
DCP-o-matic for the rest of us. It is gratefully appreciated.
I have a Final Cut Pro exported MXF file with video and audio. I
want to mute the audio then substitute a WAV file for the audio that's
in the Final Cut Pro MXF file.
I can Import the Final Cut Pro MXF and the WAV files into the DCP
film I'm making; and, I'm guessing I can go to the Audio map for the MXF
file and de-select everything. Then, select the WAV file, go to the
Audio Map for the WAV file and route the audio to the DCP channels ..
Will this do the trick? Or, is there a better way to mute the audio in
the MXF file and substitute the WAV audio for it?
When I look at the Audio map for the Final Cut Pro MXF file, it
comes out as a Single channel (Center) - and it doesn't sound like
Stereo. The WAV file - IS - Stereo, I can hear it. I wish I had 5.1
audio to work with but I had the audio Mastered as Stereo (this is
before I started to learn about DCP's from reading your DCP-o-matic
manual ..).
Also, the Timing of the MXF video and the WAV audio is sync'ed; so,
I think it should come out sync'ed in the DCP or will that change when I
make the DCP?
Please, let me know .. thank you ..

It has transpired that around noon GMT on 16th April the DCP-o-matic project in
our bug database was deleted by actors unknown. It appears that they gained
administrator rights in our installation of the Mantis bug tracker.
If you have a Mantis account and you use the same password on any other sites
you are strongly advised to change this password everywhere it is used.
At the moment I don't think anything else on dcpomatic.com was compromised.
The bug tracker has been restored from a backup and I don't think much has been
lost. If you added a bug or comment since 16th April you will need to re-add
it.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Carl
