Hi Carl,
could you explain these options to us (the Trim settings in itself is clear, although it is always worth to mention they are offsets FROM the Start and FROM the end)?
I know the 'Keep video in sequence' belongs to the content/timeline box above the Timing options, but still, what does it mean?
And, a long time want to have - cue to any position with the play slider below the preview image, then hit a key or 'Set' button to input the current cue time below the slider into the Trim number boxes.
Why do we have these 'SET' buttons anyway?
What has become of the DVD-o-matic alternative options 'PlayTrim/EncodeTrim'?
- Carsten
DCP properties in DCP-o-matic allows to set odd numbers of audio channels - how does it encode if I set it to 3,5,7? I see it updates the channel matrix accodingly, but what will be the resulting audio.mxf?
- Carsten
When I try to add an MP3 file to a project, I get an error:
'Error (could not find video stream)'
Seems that the 'MP3' extension or the file header makes DCP-o-matic think it is a videofile?
- Carsten
Currently, DCP-o-matic maxes out at 12 audio channels (which is fine ;-) ). The channel number is set under DCP properties. Will this actually create a 12ch BWF/MXF in the DCP, or will more than 8ch always create a 16ch BWF/MXF with unused channel padded with silence?
Wondering wether 10/12/14ch BWF/MXF are allowed at all...
- Carsten
Ok, ok.
I guess I know where my confusion comes from : satellite receiver and subtitles on live shows ???
Bmp so no alpha gradient on DVD.
Thanks

Several dependencies need to be updated:
libboost-thread1.53.0 -> libboost-thread1.55.0
libboost-filesystem1.53.0 -> libboost-filesystem1.55.0
libboost-date-time1.49.0 -> libboost-date-time1.55.0
Overriding during installation still does not work because the binary

Yes, PNG is part of the spec. It's used when very special characters are needed, very 'graphic' layouts, colours, etc.

Yeah, and then it would be a nightmare to start editing OCR errors during/before the conversion ;-)

'Qube Cinema to Introduce Cloud-Based KDM Service at NAB
KeySmith.biz Offers Invitation-only Access to Easy Key Management Service for Independent Filmmakers & Postproduction Facilities'
The interesting part here is that through this service, the user has access to a worldwide cinema server certificate database to create KDMs. Doing this in DCP-o-matic needs a specific certificate to be present/provided by the cinema beforehand. For most cinemas/operators, dealing with their certificate(s) directly is not part of their daily business.
- Carsten
Hi all,
This version includes:
* Various translation fixes, including a new translation to Dutch from Theo Kooijmans.
* Fixes for a number of bugs, including:
- failure to create KDMs (and bad initial start-end dates in the KDM dialog) on OS X.
- lack of internationalisation on OS X.
- glitchy subtitle display in some cases.
- broken calculate-audio-gain option.
- glitches in the colour conversion dialog on OS X.
- bad rounding of timecodes in some cases.
- an error on creating 0-audio-channel DCPs.
- crash on trying to use DPX files.
* Allow specification of the video frame rate that an audio file is synced to.
* Add option to give left and right eye content separately for 3D.
* Removal of some of FFmpeg's filters that don't work with image bit depths greater than 8 bits per pixel.
* Allow up to 500MB/s JPEG2000 bitrates.
* Improvements to the behaviour of the view's position slider near the end of films.
* A tidied-up configuration dialogue, especially on OS X.
* Auto-saving of film metadata before starting a DCP encode.
* Some incomplete and clumsy attempts at allowing download of server certificates for KDMs.

Hi,
I'm new to this list. So first, thanks for coding DCP-o-Matic, a great job that helps a lot.
And a question:
Would it be possible to reload an already made DCP not encrypted, and use DCP-o-Matic to encrypt it and then generate KDMs?
Same question for a DCP which is already encrypted, may be with another software, and use the symetric key to generate KDMs?
Thanks,
Fred
Not ingestin film but I have no problems when the transmission of trailer make 3D format is not correct, that is not in 3D format for cinema but can be 3D format for TV or computer. Jame awaiting replies from your side.
Thank you.

Hi all,
DCP-o-matic 1.65.0 is now available to download from here:
http://dcpomatic.com/download
Changes in this version include:
* Updates to the it_IT translation from William Fanelli.
* Basic support for 7.1/HI/VI audio tracks.
* Add support for no-scale of the input video.
* Update FFmpeg library version to fix incorrect frame rates with some source files.
* Fix for failure to open sound files with non-ASCII filenames.
* Fix missing RMS plots in the audio analyser.
* Fix incorrect rounding of timecodes in some cases.
* Speculative fix to stop OS X sleeping during DCP encodes.
* Use the correct timecode separator for frames (: rather than .)
* Fixes to some errors in the XML for Interop DCPs.
* Be more careful with catching exceptions from the KDM creation code.
* Fix for a crash on trying to seek when there is missing content.
* Some fixes for crashes under low-memory conditions.
* Centos 6.5 RPMs.
* Fix another repeated exception from the server-finding code.
* Fixes to strange behaviour of the colour conversion dialogue under OS X.
Thanks to William Fanelli, Ivan Pullman, lukegb and Adam Colt and all who
have tested the interim versions.
Best regards
Carl

Hello,
I had some feedbacks on the script_upmix :
first there was a mistake in method 3 ending in missing right channel or
left right inversion.
That is fixed.
Some think method 2 is quite "loud" : nice for music, concert, musical
video clip but less good for subtile dialogs and atmosphere soundtracks.
It might be useful. Attached is newer version of the script_upmix (bash
script quite linux-universal)

Good day,
First, congratulations with your fine program! We are testing and here is a
small problem, We are ingesting with no problems in DOREMI servers, but
when we try doing the same in Cinema LMS, we cannot get lms to recognize
content ??? Can you help.... Thanks Tom Fermanian Cinema Pine, Ste.
Adele, Qc Canada
Was wondering if it was possible to build a DIY open sources LMS.
Also not entirely sure exactly what a LMS is/how it works, anyone got any
good links to an overview/primer.
Hope people don't mind me posting this here, it is for use with a DCP
server and my googeling keeps on returning info about Learning Management
Systems;(.
Probably best to reply off list.

Hi all,
I have just changed the name of the DCP-o-matic mailing list from
dvdomatic to dcpomatic. I think I've arranged it so that the old email
addresses will still work. Do let me know if anything strange happens.
Best regards
Carl
Hi all,
DCP-o-matic version 1.64.0 is now available for download from:
http://dcpomatic.com/download
Selected highlights include:
* The basics of per-channel audio gain, so that a particular source
channel may be passed to different DCP channels with different gains.
* A warning on choosing ‘Make DCP’ if the disk is likely to have
insufficient free space for the DCP.
* A primitive ‘check for updates’ feature which may be triggered from
the ‘Tools’ menu or configured to be automatic at startup. It defaults to
not checking at startup.
* Updates to de_DE translation from Markus Raab.
* Updates to sv_SE translation from Adam Klotblixt.
* Updates to fr_FR translation from Theirry Journet.
* Allow choice of what to install (master/server) on Windows.
* Add subtitle X offset option.
* Fix bad A/V sync in some (and maybe in lots of) circumstances.
* Fix failure to open some .mov files on Windows.
* Fix incorrect subtitles when speeding up or slowing down video for the DCP.
* Fix incorrect audio position when using video files without audio tracks.
* Fix bad DCPs when resuming encodes of 3D content.
* Fix missing subtitles when they are in content with a non-zero position.
* Fix to formatting of Interop <ScreenAspectRatio> tags.
* Fix asset flags on Interop DCPs.
* Fix incorrect colouring of subtitles in some cases.
* Various fixes for efficiency on fast machines.
* Fix mis-timed subtitles in some cases.
* Fix error-reporting loop after long runs (and suspends) on Windows.
* Fix over-fussiness in names of 1-file-per-frame sources.
* Fix the inability to specify the frame rate of 1-file-per-frame sources.
* Try to stop Windows machines going to sleep during encodes.
* Make sure that forced languages override the environment for all messages, and not just some.
* Don't give .xml suffixes to VOLINDEX and ASSETMAP in Inter-op DCPs.
* Prevent some cases of half-finished DCP directories being created.
* Fix error on cancelling and re-starting a DCP transcode on Windows.
* Use Mbit/s instead of the incorrect MBps in the user interface.
Thanks to Adam Colt, Luke, Thierry Journet, Denzil Kriekenbeek, Brad
Miller, Markus Raab, Adam Klotblixt and all other DCP-o-matic users for
their suggestions, bug reports and contributions.
