Hello,
I've never tried for myself to create a DCP with subtitles but I have
found this thread about it :

where the previewing (of content + subtitles) /seems-may-be/ wrong ???
squares instead of letters
As pointed, I've never gone into subtitles with DoM so I don't know how
to advice.
