Ok, yeah it wasn't the file itself. It played fine
when I lowered the playback resolution. So now the issue I'm having is I keep seeing a
green and purple hue in every shot. Kind of like a chromenance thing? I'm not entirely
sure if its the color format or an issue with the player, or an issue with color grading
in the film itself. But I've never noticed this
Is that still though the DigitAll Player, or through Stereoscopic player?
Proper color rendering is dependent on wether the player does a reverse color
transformation, xyz->RGB and proper gamma. DCI servers/projectors do the proper color
conversion from DCP automatically. Some software players don't do that, or, it has to
be enabled explicitly.
The DigitAll Player has this function. However, to be certain about color rendering, you
definitely need to go to a cinema and watch it on a calibrated projector.
Try to open that MXF file in a recent version of VLC and perform the VLC internal snapshot
command, and send that capture over again.
