Ok, ok.
I guess I know where my confusion comes from : satellite receiver and subtitles on live shows ???
Bmp so no alpha gradient on DVD.
Thanks

Gérald,
They are always images: BMP for DVD and PNG for Blu-Ray.
The dvd/bd player or a software render them as they are embedded.
The only thing that can be done is resizing or changing the
position.

Hi Gérald
All the subs I've ever seen on DVD/Blu-Ray have been images.

Hi,
Are subtitles always Images on dvd/blu-ray ?
Did I dream or they are not always rendered the same according to each dvd-player or software-reader on pc ?

Hi Manuel
I don't like the subtitles being burnt in by dvdomatic, but it gets
the job done.
I am working on making that better (slowly). One problem is
that DVD subtitles are images, so you need some OCR to get them
as text for a DCP.
Best regards
Carl
