Hmm, I found a couple of files there. Maybe some piled up there from previous versions as
well. I deleted all dcpomatic references in .config and also the net.carlh.dcpomatic.plist
file. That did it.
Here's why: I did the translation for the default KDM-Email text ('Dear
projectionist...') to german. But I never got to see it, because obviously there had
been a previous text version in the preferences, and then DCP-o-matic doesn't use the
default text. In my case, this text has probably been taken over from very early versions
of DCP-o-matic.
And then there is a catch22 - It seems if you start up DCP-o-matic for the first time, the
default english KDM-Email template is copied into preferences. When I change the language,
the original english version is then considered custom made, hence you will never see a
default foreign language text from the translations.
Maybe a button 'revert to language default' or simply 'reset to default
text' in the KDM-Email tab? I think it's a good idea to get back the placeholders
$CPL_NAME, $START_TIME, $END_TIME there in case one accidentally deleted them with a
custom message. And I would add cinema name and screen name to this text, because this is
the only way to confirm the KDM is targeted at the right screen.
And, while we're there - add a CC: address to the KDM-Mail config? Or simply a
'copy to From:' checkbox? This is good to confirm the KDMemail has actually been
sent, as DCP-o-matic gives no other feedback. Distributors usually do that as well. I
think CC: is the more useful option.
