Hi Carl.
Great stuff!
Can I ask, how stable is v2 considered now? Is it ready for "prime time"?
I'm about to embark on making 400+ DCPs for a short film festival, and wondered
whether to make the leap to v2 or stick with safe v1.
I guess it depends on wether you need v2 features or not. The encoding itself is safe I
guess, so, if you don't use exotic features, v2 should be as good as v1. However, in
that case, you could stick with v1 right away.
My personal preference in this case (400+ DCPs...) would be to stick with v1, or use v2
only where you need special features. Like fade in/out or so for slides. No problem to
have both versions installed on the same machine, they do not interfere. If you use remote
encoding servers, make sure they use the same build as the Master-GUI, for both v1 and v2.
I think there is tighter control now for this, but there have been some issues in the past
when versions of local and remote encode server had not been matched.
