If I follow you right, that is because of the "default format" preference.
Perhaps there should be a "default format" of "nearest to the
source"...? * Padding an audio source (Mono) with silence to
6 channels results in a "10" moniker in ContentTitleText -- apart from being
misleading when the final audio actually has 6 channels "10" is not a valid
moniker in DC context
