I'm not going to take DVD-o-matic benchmarking to the level of high-performance gaming
;-), but I was thinking of a slightly boring, technical test clip that would have a
constant encoding complexity - that is, basically all frames identical. Maybe combine it
with my counting frames so it is also good for the trimming test.
Real world trailers have the issue that the encoding complexity goes up and down, and
DVD-o-matic only shows a short-term average (?), but not a 'full-encode-average'.
E.g. the encoding frame rate goes up during the many fades to black in the SINTEL trailer.
Would also be nice if the footage was 1998*1080, so that all scaling etc. would
'naturally' be off.
But, basically, the 1080p MP4 trailer has 13.9Mbyte, that is nice for downloading. And it
has a length of 52s, gives a nice span for slow and fast machines.
