Hi Carl-
I'm not sure what's going on with the DCP-o-matic scaling options....If I
am converting a Scope source, and if I select Scope format, the picture is
too wide. (Stretched horizontally). If I select Scope without stretch,
then the picture is the right shape, but doesn't fill the container. It's
about half the size it should be.
The only way I can seem to get the picture to fill the container
side-to-side and not be distorted is to set both the DCP format and the
video format options to 16:9... but, playing that back on the Scope
setting of the projector results in a picture that's slightly smaller than
it should be.
If I convert a flat movie, it comes out perfect every time.
I feel like I've gotta be missing something but am not sure what it could be.
One other issue, which might be the fault of the source material but I'm
not sure -- I converted Star Wars Episode IV, which contains a short
segment which has subtitles. The subtitles did not come thru on the DCP.
I can't imagine why this is...you would think they'd be hard-burned to the
image, considering they need to be played with the movie. Any idea why
this might have happened? I wonder if there's a setting in the MKV
program that might affect this?
Thanks -

Hmm, why do I find these in the DropDown Menu, instead of in 'Video'
where the other scaling options are?
Partly because there isn't much space in the video panel, and partly
because these commands affect both scale and crop, so I can't see a
particuarly great place to put them in the video tab.
I'll think about it some more :)
