The problem with silence-padded channels is that the
person playing
the DCP don't know which channels actually contains meaningful audio
without a test run.
dcp_inspect will tell us, in the not too distant future. It's been on the todo list
for some time. This and your suggestion to detect true image dimensions
(https://github.com/wolfgangw/backports/issues/21) coming up.
