Personally, at some time I had the impression that the mailing-list would be a tool for an
'inner circle' of people more devoted to development - like e.g. contributors
(few), or translators, heavy users, special applications, etc.
As a general support channel, in addition to the forum, it would indeed make little sense.

Betreff: [DCP-o-matic Users] Discontinuing the mailing lists

Hi all,
I have been thinking for a while about switching off these mailing lists
(users and announce) and just leaving the archives on the web site.
For some time there has been very little traffic, and the messages we do
get are usually from people who don't sign up to the list first, making
it fiddly to reply to them properly
It just seems like most people don't really get the "mailing list"
concept any more and are more comfortable on the forum.
Does anybody have any thoughts/strong feelings about that?
All the best,
Carl
