Thanks both for your pointers.

You're absolutely right Jonathan that a tech at the cinema chain should be able to get the certs remotely through the projectors' web GUI. However, even getting put in touch with the person who has this knowledge is proving a struggle! Tsck big organisations...

For anyone else who runs into this same problem, I called up Barco today and was given this email to request certs from (for Europe):

techsupport.be@cinionic.com

(Cinionic is the Barco subsiduary responsible for digital cinema)

Of course, no response yet...

Barco must have a database that contains serials-cert relations. Because the communication between cinemas, distributors and KDM issuers is still based on serial numbers for all servers. Distributors demand serial numbers in their digital status sheets.

I have no idea, however, who at Barco is the key contact for access to that data base.

When we received our ICMP in 2016, the web cert download function had a bug and didn't work for us then. I emailed Barco tech support with my serial, and they supplied the certs by mail.

Try: service.digitalcinema.emea<at>barco.com

There is probably a similar address for the US.

Hi Jim.

Unfortunately I don't believe Barco has a database like Dolby has.
However, all ICMP's have a QR code printed on the outside that can be scanned with a QR Scanner app on a smartphone.
When scanned, you get a download link for the Cert as a zip file.
Perhaps you can get a staff member on site to collect all the certs and mail them to you?

Or even better, get hold of the technical department of the cinema chain and have them extract the Certs from the WebGUI of the ICMP's.
There got to be someone technical who can access the servers remotely if there is no-one on site.

Best regards
Jonathan

Hi all.

Would anyone who has access to the Barco certificates database have time to pull some certificates for me?

Or does anyone know who to email at Barco to request to be given access to their database? Their website is rather opaque.

These are chain cinemas with no projection staff so unfortunately its not as easy as asking the projectionist to export certs from the projectors, and the shows are on Friday...

The servers I'm trying to create KDMs for are:

Barco    ICMP    9730528161
Barco    ICMP    9730528152
Barco    ICMP    9730528163
Barco    ICMP    9730528206
Barco    ICMP    9730528232
Barco    ICMP    9730528171
Barco    ICMP-X    9730618407
Barco    ICMP-X    9730719301
Barco    ICMP-X    9730771595
Barco    ICMP-X    9730719445
Barco    ICMP-X    9730719443

Any help much appreciated...

Jim
