On the same-ish subject, a friend also received a rejection of a DCP made with DCP-o-matic earlier this year from Technicolor Deluxe.

They said:

"CPL-INFO FAIL: (HARD FAILS)
Unlabeled audio essence, assuming 5.1 Format (requires audio rewrap)
MXF (xx-xx_audio_01.mxf) is SMPTE sound without WTF channel format. (SMPTE Requires WTF audio)

It was not able to load for a Full Internal QC due to the server not being able to read the correct SMPTE audio mapping format.

Please note, Deluxe Technicolor can make the fixes. They would un-wrap then re-wrap the audio and make the DCP Interop so there are no issue in the field with being a non-ATMOS SMPTE DCP. The cost to fix is ~$900."

This DCP was made on v1.83.0 (or maybe a slightly earlier version). I didn't mention it at the time, as I figured it was probably fixed in DCP-o-matic v2.x so wouldn't be much use reporting it.

I've got to say, in practice of the hundreds of DCPs I've now made with DCP-o-matic which have screened all over the place in the UK, we've never had a fault which wasn't traced back to a fault in the filmmaker's source file. It feels to me that Deluxe are rather splitting hairs. But I guess that's how they make their money!

Hi just sent a film encoded with DCP Omatic to TIFF film festival.

It was rejected.

Here is the info from Technicolor

#1:        The video mxf does not contain a "Random Index Point (RIP)"/ The file format is not proper OP-Atom/AS-DCP. This fails Wailua and ADSCP.
