I reported similar issues a long while ago with some BluRays. I didn't believe that
this might actually depend on the source, but it may be that REC709 is not so closely
defined as I think. We did more conversions after that and had no or less issues then.
I'm still trying to reproduce it.
Typical computer displays use a Gamma of 2.2 or 1.8. DCI projectors use a rather steep 2.6
- you can't compare the playback rendering if the player is a generic MXF player which
doesn't correct for this.
'Real' DCP Players working on the CPL will usually try to simulate xyz colorspace
and Output Gamma correctly on computer displays. Try the digitAll DCP-Player Free.
What color calibration did you use, and which deinterlacing filter in DCP-o-matic?
