Hello everyone,
I have created four 24- to 32-minute long DCP packages for a
friend and hobby filmmaker who is going to screen them at a
local movie festival. Now, I've heard back from their technical
department that the DCPs I made using DVD-o-matic are
single-reel and that "might cause problems", whatever that
means.

Furthermore, is there any possibility to
create multi-reel DCP packages via DCP-o-matic, or to convert
the single-reel packages into multi-reel using open-source
tools?
I'm afraid DCP-o-matic doesn't have that feature, yet ... although
I haven't experienced any problems with long reels on DCPs.
Thanks for clearing that up, I was afraid I had missed a specific
option/button, as OpenDCP seems to be able to handle those (albeit
only using the command line).
A few days ago, I had the opportunity to speak to the technician
which issued the warning - hi warning didn't reach me directly, but
was retold by a non-technical employee of the festival, who didn't
understand the problem himself.
The technician had no problem with the single-reel DCPs - he just
was under the impression that the four packages contained one
movie, rather than four self-contained episodes/short-films. That's
why he was raising concerns, because that would be a rather unusual
way to package a feature-length film, making problems at the
transitional points where a seamless projection can't be guaranteed.
The packages themselves were fine. ;-)
