Was wondering if it was possible to build a DIY open sources LMS.

Also not entirely sure exactly what a LMS is/how it works, anyone got any good links to an overview/primer.

Hope people don't mind me posting this here, it is for use with a DCP server and my googeling keeps on returning info about Learning Management Systems;(.
