Hello,
We're dealing here with DCP so it is assumed that
"images folder" is
"images-sequence-folder". What may lacks is the same logic for sound,
where "sound-folder" would be one folder containing one file per
audio track for the corresponding "image-folder". But then you could
rightly answer me that Open DCP does that job !
I've changed "Add folder" to "Add image sequence" in 1.76.6, so
we'll
see how that works. The only reason to have two buttons is that you
don't really want people to have to select hundreds of thousands of
image files, so I think you need the option to add a folder.
Of course you can add sound files using "Add file(s)". I don't think
it would be much help to add a folder of sound files as there will
probably only be 8 at most for the vast majority of cases, so they are
quite easy to select.
But those notices are very interesting : it shows that
somehow
DCP-o-Matic could almost become a NLE editing tool or a kind of
/playlist-maker-into-one-DCP/… Without going so far the ability to
organize sub-folder in the display box (or timeline) might help to
associate / match image and audio contents ? And consequently the
ability to add already-done-DCP as a part of the final DCP.
It sort-of is already: if you click "Timeline" you see all the content
in the project and you can drag it about to rearrange it.
The intent here is not to go much further than being able to make
slideshows, or stick things together. As you say, it would make more
sense to incorporate DCP export into OpenShot or something rather than
make another full NLE.
Best regards,
Carl
