Yep, I also see this in a separate tool. As a matter of fact, since ffmpeg supports J2K
MXFs, one could simply wait until one of the other ffmpeg based free converters take it
up. I just tried an older version of handbrake for Mac, and it didn't recognize the
video. What's certainly special is the DCP style of CPL and separate audio-files. A
good reason to leave this to other tools is that it's rather easy now to read the
MXFs, but to offer useful choices for scaling, processing, and especially output codecs,
is another thing...
I just noticed ONE small benefit of DCP-o-matic being able to read it's own J2K MXFs -
you have a quick preview/check option in the preview window e.g. for trim, AR, etc.
