But when I load the project, the trim values both read "100", not
"500".
To report on my third try: as long as I don't save and load, but rather
encode directly, the trims now work almost as planned. It just seems
that the values I see below the video window of DVDom are a little off.
In my source, there is a fade to black; when I skip the video in DVDom
until I see that black screen, the frame counter below the video reads
"750". But neither entering 750 nor 751 completely eliminated the
preceeding video - the DCP package starts a faction of a second before
the fade to black. As of this writing, I re-encode the DCP (after again
deleting the video, of course ;-)) with a starting time value of "753"
to test whether cuts at the black screen or before that.

Additionally, I saved the project and
loaded it at a
later time. Now, the "Start" and "End" fields were set to
"100" each,
which bears no resemblance to what I had input into the
fields before saving (750 and 251, respectively).
That is strange. Is that repeatable?
Yes, it seems to happen every time. I just did the following:
1. I created a new project named "BLUBB".
2. In the film tab, I loaded a dummy Quicktime movie (in this case,
a 1080p film trailer from apple.com which I had lying around), and
waited for DVDom to analyze the file.
3. Then, I entered "500" in both the "Start" and "End"
fields next
to "Trim frames".
4. I selected "File"->"Save" to save the project.
5. I exited DVDom.
6. I started DVDom again and reloaded the project via
"File"->"Open".
7. Now, both fields contain the value "100".
OK, strange! Can you attach the metadata file you get after step 4?
