On the subject of the trimming method - do I understand this correctly: Does "encode
all frames and play the subset" make a package of the whole film and writes
instructions into the metadata to only play the untrimmed part? Or what does it mean
exactly?
Stereoscopic player only plays the MXF - which will contain ALL video frames if you use
the 'encode all frames and play the subset' option. A 'real' DCP Player
will skip the trimmed frames by using the associated CPL as a playlist. The CPL will tell
the cinema server or DCP Player which video and audio parts to play and which to skip.
