Hello
could you post the full original request email from the festival? It
might shed some more light on what they mean with "Linux Compatible
DCP".
Optional Way download:
Maybe you can ask them if you can deliver the DCP as a zip/7zip
download (opt. Encrypted) download using
myAirbridge/wetransfere/dropbox/..... But be carefull using MacOS
onboard zip creation tool for this for anything above 1,9GB! In some
cases/anytime(?) it creates zip archives that are only usable by macOS
Zip. They result in offset errors on linux/windows systems. Because of
that i ususally request 7zip files (.7z) for our festival in
Weiterstadt.
Optional filesystem:
But back to stick/usb disk creation. If your short film is small in
size (below 1,9GB) per file you could even try FAT32 as the
filesystem. But as said it has a 2GB filelimit.

Just to add my twopence worth here...
Unfortunately it's not the case that all servers can read NTFS. Almost all can, but
I've encountered some that can't. And one was in the past month so it remains a
current issue. I'm afraid I can't remember server make/model.
Hi Jim,
is there a chance for you to find out what server this was?
Technically, it wouldn't be so complicated to create a suiitable environment for DCP
copying/formatting drives. Someone would need to create a beefed up boot-stick or virtual
machine with the necessary tools and a simple GUI.
