That's why he

a feature-length film, making problems at the transitional points where a
seamless projection can't be guaranteed.
I might have misinterpreted your end goal, but just to clarify - packing a
full feature film in multiple reels won't be unusual :)
That is actually how most feature films are created today. I have seen only
a few single reel Hollywood titles (e.g. the digitally remastered 'Top
Gun').
A standard Hollywood DCP is still created from digital 'reels' at roughly
20min each (+-5min).
The transitional points isn't an issue even though the reel head and tail
are overlapping and are handled by the <EntryPoint> and <Duration> tags in
the CPL.
Check out this thread for info on multiple reels in DCP's:

The user at the end of the thread made a script for splitting into reels.
Putting 4 shortfilms into 1 DCP by using the multiple reel feature is of
course possible... but from my perspective, that would only be smart if the
4 episodes/shorts were supposed to be shown back 2 back and never separate.
Sorry if I've misunderstood your meaning! :)
