There are a lot of modifiers, but not that many sections actually.
It's not that bad.
This would be a realistic NULLed name:
MovieTitle_TST-1_F-178_EN_INT_20_2K_NULL_20160204_NULL_SMPTE_OV
Or in my case with MÖ films as Studio and AKA (akaDCP) as Facility
MovieTitle_TST-1_F-178_EN_INT_20_2K_MO_20160204_AKA_SMPTE_OV
I don't agree with the NULL proposition neither, maybe just N?
Anyways, it was interesting to know that some systems are parsing the
underscores and to be careful about it.
Thanks!

Not that I'm saying that is not the reason,
merely that if that is what is causing it, it is not the fault of the software. Also,
considering the resolution of the content servers (Doremi and GDC seem most egregious
about it), it is often more difficult than it needs to be to read a DCP's label, and
adding NULL to so many sections would be an irritating proposition for many
managers/projectionists building their SPLs.
I agree on that. The mentioned section is from a complex that deals with the introduction
of CPL Metadata - in the future, the Metadata will be used by systems to automate things,
while the DCNC CPL naming will be used by systems not yet supporting Metadata.
So I think that it is wise to keep the CPL naming where it currently is (already complex
enough), and focus on CPL Metadata for all automated readout.
Adding NULL would really make these things completely unreadable.
