Hi Andrew
it depends where you want to save space... ;)
As DCP is a full frame thing there is no BluRay (h264) like "only
changes" reduction in size when the DCP is ingested into the server.
But if you are targeting "transport/download size" then you can get
quite a lot of reduction with 7zip (ultra settings for best result) or
even more on Linux based systems with lrzip.
The JPEG2000 codec will in deed compress the black borders very well per
singe image.
If you reduce the bitrate you use less space. I for my part never go
below the 100Mbit/s default and can't make a suggestion about that
because of that fact.
2K 2D<->2K 3D : the 2K 3D is just two times a 1K 2D image inside the
2K-3D pic. You therefore have more picture information per frame which
usually results in people using more bandwith (200Mbit/s for 3D
content).

Please can someone recommend settings for generating
Slide show DCPs of
still images to minimize the DCP file size?
As all frames are the same for each image is there a setting that makes
best use of adjacent similar frames.
The images I am using are all 4:3 ratio so there is a lot of black also
in the images I would assume should compress well.
Does reducing the bit rate have any effect other than controlling
quality, can it be set quite low?
I currently have it at the default of 100.
I am generating 2K 3D slide shows but assume the principles are the same
as for 2D slide shows.
Thank you for any help.
Andrew
