Hi,
I recently tried michaelcinquin subtitles (created from srt) with DOM for
an SMPTE DCP. It resulted in a DCP that reliably kills a Barco DP4K-23B
(connected to Doremi Showvault) within 2 seconds. This crash is so
serious that a normal reboot/power-cycle with the power switch was not
enough to fix things. I had to realy unplug the Barco from the power
to make it work again ..
At first I didn't believe that the subtitles caused this to happen,
but with re-testing the same thing happens.
I use projector subtitles (cinecanvas) on this projector so they
are nicely rendered in 4k (something Doremi can't do!).
(All my server/projector firmware/software etc. is up-to-date!)
Of course the Barco should never crash because of any input,
but apparently michaelcinquin produced something nasty for it ..

Very little experience with GDC. I'm adding
my colleague in case she
remembers any case.
Subtitles errors are rare even during festivals, but usually fatal and
easy to remember :) We have never seen our usual workflow fail, either
direct from dom or SMPTE with michaelcinquin with first and last
empty.
