Original Dolby Servers (DSS) will read exfat. 

But, simply avoid it. I understand EXFAT is convenient as both current Macs and Windows systems will support it right out of the box (without additional drivers for e.g. NTFS write support). But in the cinema world, it is more or less a guarantee for failure.
