I like the way DCP-o-matic shows a quick overview
about what happens during the conversion with regard to scaling, aspect ratio, audio, etc.
Wondering wether we could add a full set of these details below the DCP tab
Those conversions can be different per source file. I know that using
multiple files is not so usual, but that's how dcpomatic is build.
Also, the DCP tab should normally be the final stage
before one hits 'Jobs -> Create DCP'
It feels indeed like the final step, should? you made me think about
it, thanks!. DCP then content sounds better: Choose the container,
name and whatelse, then add the content.
Real world use is more like open the video file and try to figure out
how to deal with it :D
In a later release, I also think it would be more
useful to include the 'tips' or hints [in the DCP tab]
+1!! also expected total size?
And: I brought this up earlier, but Carl has a
different opinion on this: I still think the scaling method should go under the content
tab and has to be settable content-specific. I don't think it makes sense to have a
choice of different scaling methods, but only 'global'. The only reason to choose
different scaling methods should be content-related. Another reason: Scaling method is not
a DCI/DCP specific parameter, unlike all other parameters under the DCP tab.
Are there any other per-project preferences? An extra tab could then make sense.
If content-specific is technically easy to do, why not. With a default
preference choice.
TBH I never change the scaling method.
