It's from the original position of the subtitles; i.e. the position at
which the content file says they should appear.

As long as I can remember, srt does not include position information.
Another good reason to support other formats ;)

Yes it does show the modifications in preview.
Didn't show Korean characters tho :P

Hmm, I just tried it with an MKV file ripped from a DVD. Subtitles show in VLC - I
can't seem them in DCP-o-matic preview, I can select/activate them in the Subtitle
tab, but I don't even see them in the MXF that is created...

Hi Carsten,
There was a silly bug in .40 that caused problems with subtitles and trim.
It should be ok in 1.76.41.
