Hi all,
DCP-o-matic version 1.64.0 is now available for download from:

Selected highlights include:
* The basics of per-channel audio gain, so that a particular source
channel may be passed to different DCP channels with different gains.
* A warning on choosing ‘Make DCP’ if the disk is likely to have
insufficient free space for the DCP.
* A primitive ‘check for updates’ feature which may be triggered from
the ‘Tools’ menu or configured to be automatic at startup. It defaults to
not checking at startup.
* Updates to de_DE translation from Markus Raab.
* Updates to sv_SE translation from Adam Klotblixt.
* Updates to fr_FR translation from Theirry Journet.
* Allow choice of what to install (master/server) on Windows.
* Add subtitle X offset option.
* Fix bad A/V sync in some (and maybe in lots of) circumstances.
* Fix failure to open some .mov files on Windows.
* Fix incorrect subtitles when speeding up or slowing down video for the DCP.
* Fix incorrect audio position when using video files without audio tracks.
* Fix bad DCPs when resuming encodes of 3D content.
* Fix missing subtitles when they are in content with a non-zero position.
* Fix to formatting of Interop <ScreenAspectRatio> tags.
* Fix asset flags on Interop DCPs.
* Fix incorrect colouring of subtitles in some cases.
* Various fixes for efficiency on fast machines.
* Fix mis-timed subtitles in some cases.
* Fix error-reporting loop after long runs (and suspends) on Windows.
* Fix over-fussiness in names of 1-file-per-frame sources.
* Fix the inability to specify the frame rate of 1-file-per-frame sources.
* Try to stop Windows machines going to sleep during encodes.
* Make sure that forced languages override the environment for all messages, and not just
some.
* Don't give .xml suffixes to VOLINDEX and ASSETMAP in Inter-op DCPs.
* Prevent some cases of half-finished DCP directories being created.
* Fix error on cancelling and re-starting a DCP transcode on Windows.
* Use Mbit/s instead of the incorrect MBps in the user interface.

It used to require images to be numbered starting from 1, and didn't like
text in the image filenames, which was all a bit unnecessary.

Hello !
Some feedback after installing 1.64
First surprise the deb package for ubuntu 13.10 is about 230 Mo - I did
not remember that with previous version or maybe I had never paid
attention to that before.
Today with dcp-o-matic I've tried for the first time to create a DCP
from image sequence and 6 mono wav (48khz signed 24 bits pcm) tracks
exported from Audacity - like the good'ol fashionned way with still
useful open-dcp ;-) The image folder contains 288 png files in 1998x1080
pixels 72 dpi rvb, aiming a 12 seconds transition in 24 fps.
When I import the image folder, previewing the video is almost
impossible : it is very slow and freezes the computer - which is a core
i7 with 16 Go Ram running ubuntu 13.10 64 bits I hoped that's enough to
avoid hardware slow down !
Other surprise is length of the audio tracks : I carefully checked in
audacity my tracks are 12 seconds long (with display time set to
hh:mm:ss:frame for 24 fps film). Once imported in dcp-o-matic it shows
11 seconds and 23 frames long. Not a big deal on this very short trial.
Maybe improving the way figures (and zero) are displayed and aligned in
duration tab would improve readability - I first thought it was 11,23
seconds long which is really not the same !
Anyway I made the DCP... Transcoding was quite slow using 6 threads out
of 8 and never get over 1,7 images per second.
Did I miss/mess something ? Hope my poor english grammar does not hurt
your eyes too much !

Thanks for spotting that, yes, it has been built with debug information
when it shouldn't have been. I'll fix that.

How big are the PNG files (in megabytes)? I don't think previewing video
from stills is going to work very well for the immediate future: the
required disk bandwith is rather high.

I will try to improve the labelling, and look into that off-by-one.

Let's see about your PNG file size and work out whether that's reasonable
or not: was the CPU being maxed out?
