Hi Carl.
Are there any changes in the format of the metadata.xml DCP-o-matic
project file between 2.12.x and 2.14.x?
I have a bunch of DCP-o-matic project files made with 2.12.10 but not
encoded yet, but would like to upgrade to 2.14.8. If I attempt to open
these old projects in DOM 2.14.8 in order to "Make DCP", should I expect
any incompatibility/problems?
Or may there be problems if I encode these old projects via command line?
dcpomatic2_cli --config /path/to/config /path/to/dom/project

Hi Jim
The idea is that going from 2.12.x to 2.14.x should work fine, although
those metadata.xml may be modified so that they become incompatible with
2.12.x.
I would suggest backing up these project files before upgrading. There
are no problems that I'm aware of.

I'll let you know if I run into any problems.
One other question: Does dcpomatic2_cli use the info in ffprobe.log? Or
can it be safely omitted from project folder? I use scripts to send the
project files to various computers to encode on, and it's simpler if
only need to copy the metadata.xml file.

ffprobe.log is just for debugging so you can ignore it if you like.
