That's a nice idea.

That's the question, I think... are there any other similar tasks, or
is this a one off? :)
That said, an intermission DCP generator could be a
nice webbased
application, especially since using subtitles, the resulting files
would be small for download.
That sounds like the best approach to me: a page on
dcpomatic.com that
can generate intermission .srt/.xml files on demand; then you can put
them into DoM and add your background art / music etc.
Just type in your catch-phrase or upload a background
image, then
download the resulting intermission DCP.
That would be another possibility, indeed...
