And now with the 2.9.0 and 2.9.39 version, I have to redo some new versions with english
subtitles and I have a lot of sound clicking problems.
I use the same 5.1 sound file.
Where does the clicking occur - at a cinema playing the DCP, or on a different
playout/qc/mastering station?
Audio doesn't have to be exceptionally 'loud' for clipping and thus
'clicking' to occur. I had it recently that a film maker had copied L and R to
Center without attentuation. During 'normal' level dialog, clipping/clicking
occured, because the dialog was uncompressed and had been normalized to 0dBFs.
So only every few seconds did it clip, while the average level was not very high. From the
perceived loudness, no one would have assumed a clipping issue.
Check the resulting 5.1 audio MXF, I'd say, that should show wether it's clipping
around the clicks, or wether there is some discontinuity within the files at arbitrary
times and/or channels/tracks.
