Hi all,
Is anyone using any of the current test versions with the Dolby DSS-200?
If so, how it is going? Do the DCPs work?

I would recommend that you also get the firmware/software versions of the Dolby equipment
if you are trying to track something down. Dolby has been doing work with their early
systems recently.

Hi Carl.
We found DCP's made with 2.11.22 and 2.11.24 creates sync issues.
Issues with DSS200 yes, but we only had a few of those, so we never got a
full report of symptoms before the issue was fixed.
The main issue was on Barco ICMP (v1.2.7.10.17247).
The symptoms are jumpy/freezing play marker on the ICMP player that
corrensponds with what happens on screen (jumpy image/audio). This creates
a sync difference between image and audio, resulting in a ~300-500ms sync
issue for the rest of the playlist (!!!) (including DCP's that are made
using stable or other software/hardware).
How to fix: Reboot ICMP Media server (rebooting ICMP only is enough).
Interestingly enough, the DCP's plays fine on Doremi IMB/SV, DCP2000,
IMS2000.

The Barco ICMP is very explicit in it's log about decoder issues - just recently I
sent logs to a company using colorfront transcoder. I don't know any other server with
that level of detail in it's log.
I usually have our ICMP on the very latest software, and except for the initial HMAC issue
last year, never had problems. Admittedly, I think I have not created content for it with
2.11.x. I think the last one was a full length musical piece, but according to the CPL, I
did it with 2.10.5. There were no issues, that for sure.
Currently, Barco issues many service releases, there is a new version every few weeks.
Quite possible that one or the other contains a quirk.

We all ads are from 5.1 or stereo, using prores or apple uncompressed 8bit

Right, apologies for my weak explanation. By fixed, I meant that our Advert
team re-created new DCP's made with test version .22 and .24 in the stable
v2.10.5.
The DSS200 Issues wasn't brought to Dolby (yet) as we only have a handful
of Dolbys in 1 site and they are a bit too remote for general testing.
We decided to focus on the ICMP's.

I should be able to do some testing this week. I have the recent test installers still
stored on my notebook. I hope I can reproduce the problem - or do I NOT?
