Hi all,
I have a new version of DCP-o-matic here:

There have been some bug fixes, but more importantly this version is built
against a newer version of the macOS SDK than previous versions, and has a
number of changes to comply with changes in Apple's notorization
requirements.
I was hoping to leave these fixes until 2.16.0 but Apple have quietly
changed some things and forced my hand.
I would be very grateful if anybody could take the time to test it.
It won't run on anything earlier than macOS Mavericks but I will upload a
different version for old OS versions soon.

Opened fine.
I loaded several large Tiff files, opened the Timeline and moved one to the back (leaving
a hole), then added a new Tiff and it showed as the end and I was able to successfully
drag it to the fill the hole.
I selected several tiffs, one of which was square (the rest were 1.9 full frame), and it
successfully told me that there were multiple sizes and I was able to pull down to make
them all full frame.
I have forgotten to mention this before. Perhaps there is no correct flag in my files to
indicate that they are in 2020 color space. I’ll include one with this email. I hoped that
I could select them all and select the 2020 but that pull down was grey. I was able to do
it one by one. (But, that is no fun!)
I was able to ‘upscale’ the 2 track audio to 5.1, though if it plays like the graph looks,
it will be very center heavy. I haven’t done this before and don’t know what it is
supposed to do, but I don’t have 6 channel playback to try it with.
I made a DCP.
I made a DCP. It opened, shows the first frame, but gave this crash message immediately
after hitting Play. It played music for 5 seconds then stopped. I said No and it gave the
2nd error. DOM Player version 15.42. Went back to several Player versions which did the
same.
DOM Player version 15.32 works.
I played other earlier DCPs. Same problem with player 42 and earlier. 32 works with them
too.
I have an iMac with the following basic specs.
Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to try.

That's a known bug in recent 2.15.x versions. Player 2.14.29 seems to be
fine.
@Carl - all 2.14.29 apps open without the longish gatekeeper test - is
this a result of notarization? Though I am still on Sierra, without
notarization? All I get is the usual 'This app has been downloaded from the
internet - do you still want to open it' warning. Then the app opens
immediately. I just recently installed 2.14.26 and 2.15.42, and both showed
the long gatekeeper check.

1) Yes, indeed; I wrote to Carl that I indeed found that 14.29 Plays back correctly.
Confirming!
2) I can’t tell how the gatekeeper responds anymore. I turned it off ages ago and somehow
my life still goes on.

I don't know. I have been notarizing builds for a while. When I tried
last time (after a few weeks without trying due to my mac being offline)
the notarization was refused because the software is/was built against the
10.6 SDK (now it must be >= 10.9) and because I hadn't turned on the
hardened runtime.
Hence why we now have two mac builds; one for 10.{6,7,8} and one for 10.9
and up.
So maybe something changed on Apple's side. Or maybe it's just because
the 10.9+ builds are now 64-bit only so all the binaries are half the
size.

I might have time next week to test a bit more but on
first test it
crashed after loading and going to prefs.
yup - going to prefs in DCP-o-matic main 2.14.29 (Sierra) seems to trigger
the same or similar error sequence (samplingtools/debug -> wxWidgets) as
seen in player 2.15.42 when trying to play - though, player 2.14.29 doesn't
show these errors when playing (and not when entering prefs).
